Performed research project "Application of new methods of diagnosis, non-pharmacological and chemotherapeutic treatment of common infections in North-Eastern region of Ukraine".
Results of research work reported in the International Congress on Infectious Diseases in Rome, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kursk, Minsk, Vitebsk, New York, Paris.
Scientific achievements of the staff are reflected in the 11 patents and copyright certificates on inventions (Chemych M.D., Ilyina N.I., Zahlyebayeva V.V., Polovyan K.S., Piddubna A.I.), 20 rationalization proposals (Chemych M.D., Ilyina N.I.).
Scientific interests:
The etiological structure of acute intestinal infections in Sumy region.
The features of acute shigellosis in epidemic and sporadic forms of disease.
Unreasonableness of antimicrobials in acute shigellosis.
Highly effective in treatment of acute intestinal infections with modern absorbents and probiotics.
Strengthening the study of clinical and epidemiological and pathogenetic peculiarities of opisthorchiasis and boreliosis.

Polovyan K.S.: thesis "Clinical, laboratory and immunological aspects in the diagnosis and treatment of acute intestinal infections caused by opportunistic microorganisms". Supervisor - MD, Professor M.D. Chemych.
Piddubna A.I.: "Immunogenetic changes in HIV-infected and clinical and epidemiological features of HIV infection in North-Eastern region of Ukraine". Supervisor - MD, Professor M.D. Chemych.
