The goal of the discipline "Methodology of evidence-based medicine" and its place in the system of specialist training

Elective discipline "Methodology of evidence-based medicine" is taught in the IV year. The aim is to master the skills of searching and analyzing the results of scientific medical research in order to obtain data on the best methods of diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients, laying the foundations of scientific thinking and forming a critical approach to the selection of information sources and its evaluation. It provides for the formation of knowledge and skills, the acquisition of practical skills that allow you to obtain the necessary information in professional literature and databases and other sources, analyze, evaluate and apply this information.

The goal is set on the basis of the educational and professional training program for a doctor in the specialty in accordance with the block of its content module and is the basis for building the content of the discipline. The objectives (final and specific) are formulated in terms of "professional activity" taking into account the relevant taxonomic levels.

The final goals of the discipline:

Formulate questions about the existing problem to begin the search for its solution;

Search for the best solution to a specific problem based on the results of clinical trials, scientific literature and other sources;

Critically evaluate the data obtained regarding their reliability and the possibility of clinical application;

Implement the obtained data into clinical practice;

To analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the obtained data in clinical practice;

To select and use unified clinical protocols for the provision of medical care, developed on the basis of evidence-based medicine;

Conduct quality control of medical care based on statistical data, expert evaluation and sociological research data using indicators of structure, process and performance;

Justify the choice of an adequate method of financing (payment), the choice of rational forms of organization of medical services;

Apply methods of economic analysis when choosing methods of diagnosis, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation (cost minimization, cost effectiveness);
